This copyrighted inscription database consists of 261 records and was compiled by the website owner. It is the most accurate and complete database available.
The inscriptions are transcribed word for word, with all the spelling and punctuation copied exactly as found. A forward slash (“/”) indicates a line break. Two slashes indicate a common element on shared markers between two or more individuals (this is typically the surname) and/or a section break between individual inscriptions on a shared marker. All inscribed lettering is transcribed in uppercase (caps) if the inscription uses only uppercase lettering. Lettering is transcribed as uppercase (caps) and lowercase if otherwise. See the examples below.

Example 1
The common element of HALLER on top of the marker is shared among three individuals. The inscription uses only uppercase lettering.
HALLER//E.L. HALLER/NOV. 3, 1837/MAY 29, 1910//J.E. HIS WIFE/NOV. 14, 1835/MAR. 14, 1865//S.F.H. SON/AUG. 14, 1858/JUNE 10, 1866
MARTHA F./DAU. OF/J.K. &/M.F. BOSTICK/DIED/Nov. 26, 1864,/Aged 15 Y’rs
Example 2
The inscription uses uppercase and lower case styles of text.

Photographs
Photographs of the markers (tombstones, headstones, etc.) of approximately 80% of the interments are posted online at the Find-A-Grave website where I created an interment list for McCord Cemetery (An interment list is different than an inscription list; the interment list is a record of interments at the cemetery and an inscription list records the text of what is inscribed on the markers.) To view the interment list and photographs, visit McCord Cemetery at Find-A-Grave
